Am 16. Mai 1945, also kurz nach Kriegsende, wurde in einer Schule im 9. Wiener Gemeindebezirk die FÖJ (Freie Österreichische Jugend) gegründet. Das Ziel war, wie zum Teil schon aus dem Namen hervorgeht, eine österreichische, demokratische, antifaschistische und überparteiliche Jugendorganisation zu gründen, ähnlich dem österreichischen Gewerkschaftsbund. Was aber bei der Gewerkschaft möglich war, stellte sich bei einer Jugendorganisation als unmöglich heraus.[...] (Klappentext)
